LAS VEGAS, Nevada — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will have a new championship headliner when it returns to the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” in April at LFA 181. This will be the twenty-first LFA event to take place in the state of Minnesota. Twenty of these events have taken place at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, which is located just 25 minutes southwest of the Twin Cities.

LFA 181, Presented by RESILITE, takes place Friday, April 5th at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

The main event will now feature an interim flyweight title fight between undefeated top contenders Jordan Harris and Eimar Hernadez. The entire main card will be available worldwide on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

“The new main event will crown an interim flyweight champion in one of our deepest divisions. LFA flyweight champion Eduardo Chapolin withdrew from his first title defense due to an injury, which created this opportunity. Jordan Harris and Eimar Hernandez will now square off in a battle between the top two undefeated 125-pound prospects in the world. The Mystic Lake Casino Hotel is an incredible venue and we look forward to bringing another explosive title fight to our great fight fans in the Upper Midwest.”

Tickets for LFA 181: Harris vs. Hernandez are available for purchase NOW through Ticketmaster.com.

Harris (4-0) came to the LFA as one of the most decorated Muay Thai fighters to successfully make the jump to professional MMA. Harris honed his world-class striking skills competing in professional Muay Thai, where he notably became the inaugural Lion Fight North American lightweight champion. He has also enjoyed a standout career in professional boxing that dates back to 2016. Upon his arrival in the LFA, the California native has been as good as advertised. Harris has picked up a pair of victories over two of the promotion’s biggest stars. The first came at LFA 134, where Harris became the only man to defeat the Texas dynamo Kevin Fernandez. Harris followed up that win by becoming the first man to finish Hawaiian knockout artist Aupuni Pagaoa. Harris won that bout by TKO at LFA 173 after landing a sniper-like kick to the body.

Hernandez (7-0) is a man that is seeing his path to the LFA title come full circle. Four years ago, Hernandez concluded his amateur MMA career at LFA 82 at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel. This happened just a couple weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 changed the landscape of MMA by forcing the cancellation of most events. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native decided to turn pro the following year and made the move west to train with UFC Hall of Fame member Urijah Faber at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California. In that time, Hernandez has also had the benefit of training alongside UFC star and LFA great Maycee Barber. The two have trained together at Roufusport in Milwaukee and Team Alpha Male. The dynamic striker has won all of his bouts and a regional title since turning pro and now looks for LFA gold when he returns to the promotion.
