LAS VEGAS, Nevada — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that LFA 235 will feature a new main event after an injury forced the cancellation of the previously scheduled lightweight headliner between Ilay Barzilay and Landry Ward. The promotion will now showcase a pair of high-stakes middleweight contests atop the card when LFA returns to Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, June 19th.
In the new main event, Zayne Havener (5-2) will meet Andrew Stewart (6-1) in a three-round middleweight bout between two rising contenders looking to take a major step toward title contention. The co-main event will feature another pivotal matchup in the division as Jake Woodley (7-1) faces David Wright (6-2).
The four athletes competing in the night’s featured bouts enter Louisville at a critical moment for the division. Reigning LFA Middleweight Champion Joseph Kropschot is competing on Dana White’s Contender Series later this year, potentially creating a path for the next generation of contenders to emerge.
Stewart has quietly built an impressive 6-1 professional record and now finds himself on the verge of a breakthrough performance that could launch him into the title picture. Across the cage, Havener has built his reputation by defying expectations, earning back-to-back upset victories through a blend of athleticism, grit, and fight-ending instincts.
The co-main event carries equally significant implications. Woodley has compiled a strong résumé while climbing the middleweight ranks, while Wright has earned recognition as a dangerous finisher capable of changing a fight with a single exchange.
Together, these two matchups create what amounts to a middleweight showcase featuring four athletes with championship aspirations and an opportunity to establish themselves as frontrunners in one of the LFA’s deepest divisions.
“Unfortunately, Landry Ward suffered an injury that forced us to cancel the original main event,” stated Soares. “Fortunately, we had two outstanding middleweight matchups already scheduled for this card. With Joseph Kropschot pursuing an opportunity on Dana White’s Contender Series, these fights take on even greater significance. Havener, Stewart, Woodley, and Wright all have a chance to make a strong case for future title consideration with a big performance in Louisville.”
LFA 235, presented by Monster Energy, will take place Friday, June 19th at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. Tickets are available now at Ticketmaster.com
The main card will air live in the United States on VICE TV at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, with a Spanish-language simulcast on ESPN Deportes. Internationally, the event will be available via ESPN across Latin America, including Mexico, Brazil, and the Caribbean. In addition, the main card will air live on Fight Club throughout Russia and the CIS countries—as well as worldwide on the LFA Fight Network™ on YouTube.
