SANTA CRUZ, California — On Thursday, May 8th, LFA hosted the weigh-in for LFA 208: Mecate vs. Reyes from the Courtyard by Marriott in Santa Cruz, California. The main event will feature an Intercontinental Lightweight Showdown between two-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler Chris Mecate (10-2) and top Colombian prospect and parkour expert Javier “Blair” Reyes (20-4).
LFA 208, presented by MONSTER ENERGY, will feature veteran MMA commentator Ron Kruck, who will be joined in the booth by former UFC star and Strikeforce champion Gilbert “El Niño” Melendez. The Brazilian-Portuguese commentary team will consist of Brazilian media personality Tiago Pamplona, who will work alongside UFC commentator Tarso Doria. They will call the action live from Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, California. The main card will be available tomorrow night LIVE on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.
Every fighter, except Jacob Rosales and Eric Lunsford, made their contracted weights when they stepped on the scale. They will now forfeit a portion of their purses to their opponents. LFA 208 will proceed with thirteen bouts, which includes the Lightweight Showdown at the top of the card.
