LAS VEGAS, Nevada — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion returns to Santa Cruz, California on Friday, October 9th, with LFA 243, live from Kaiser Permanente Arena. LFA 243 will be headlined by a light-heavyweight bout as Nick Maximov faces Wildemar Santos.

Nick Maximov (14-2), an American light heavyweight who trains out of Northern California, enters the fight as a UFC veteran, bringing a wealth of high-level experience into the matchup.

Standing across the cage will be Wildemar Santos (14-5), a Brazilian standout and regional champion, who enters the bout looking to add another notable win to his résumé against a proven, high-level opponent.

“This is a great measuring-stick fight between two proven light heavyweights,” stated Soares. “Wildemar Santos brings a championship pedigree from Brazil, while Nick Maximov, a Northern California-based UFC veteran, gives our fans in Santa Cruz a real crossroads matchup between international talent right in their backyard.”

LFA 243: Maximov vs. Santos, presented by Monster Energy, will stream live in the United States on VICE TV at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. The event will also air across Latin America on ESPN Deportes and ESPN KnockOut, and throughout Russia and the CIS countries on Fight Club.
