TEMPLE, Texas — On Thursday, July 20th, LFA hosted the weigh-in for LFA 163: Johns vs. Garcia from the Holiday Inn Temple-Belton in Temple, Texas. The main event will feature a featherweight title fight between the LFA’s all-time appearance leader Elijah “Baby” Johns (9-2) and former LFA title challenger Javier “El Mariachi” Garcia (10-5).

LFA 163 will feature veteran MMA commentator Ron Kruck, who will be joined in the booth by former UFC star and Strikeforce champion Gilbert “El Niño” Melendez. The Brazilian-Portuguese commentary team will consist of #5 ranked UFC welterweight star and former UFC title challenger Gilbert “Durinho” Burns, who will work alongside Brazilian MMA analyst Max Soares. They will call the action live inside the Bell County Expo Center in Belton, Texas. The main card will be available tomorrow night LIVE on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.

Every fighter, except Johnny Hopper, Matheus Pereira, and Angel Alvarez, made their contracted weight when they stepped on the scales. Hopper, Pereira, and Alvarez will now forfeit a portion of their purses to their opponents Will Starks, Landry Ward, and Milko Tucto respectively. LFA 163 will proceed with nine bouts, which includes the featherweight championship at the top of the card.
