CAJAMAR, SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL (May 29, 2026) – Legacy Fighting Alliance returned to Brazil for LFA 234, presented by Monster Energy, in front of a sold-out crowd at Ginásio do Polvilho on Friday night. Fans were treated to a pair of world championship bouts, marking the second consecutive week that the promotion showcased two title fights on a single card.
The evening was headlined by the LFA Light Heavyweight World Championship, as reigning champion and former middleweight titleholder Lucas Fernando defended his belt against top contender Leon Soares. Fernando wasted little time asserting himself, dropping Soares with a devastating leg kick before finishing the challenger with a barrage of punches. The victory marked Fernando’s second successful defense of the LFA Light Heavyweight World Title and improved his professional record to 13-3.
In the co-main event, LFA Interim Lightweight World Champion Jefferson Nascimento put his undefeated record on the line against dangerous Uruguayan challenger Gian Maurente. Maurente proved to be a formidable opponent, but Nascimento ultimately secured the victory with a crushing body kick that left Maurente unable to continue. The win extended Nascimento’s perfect record to 13-0.
Following a brief hiatus, the LFA heads to Louisville, Kentucky, for LFA 235 on June 19th. The promotion returns to Freedom Hall, which last hosted LFA 210 in June 2025. The event will feature a lightweight showdown between rising international prospect Ilay Barzilay (7-1) and seasoned contender Landry Ward (10-3).
The main card will air live in the United States on VICE TV at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT, with a Spanish-language simulcast on ESPN Deportes. Internationally, the event will be available on ESPN throughout Latin America, including Mexico, Brazil, and the Caribbean. In addition, the main card will air live on Fight Club across Russia and the CIS countries, as well as worldwide on the LFA Fight Network™ on YouTube.
