Las Vegas, NV — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will return to the state of New York with two championship bouts headlining LFA 233, taking place Friday, May 22nd at the Seneca Allegany Event Center in Salamanca, New York.

The event will feature a pair of title fights, headlined by a compelling international showdown for the LFA Welterweight Championship.

In the main event, reigning champion Jonathan Piersma (11-3) will defend his title against Uruguay’s Martin Camilo (8-2-1). Piersma, who represents upstate New York, has emerged as one of the top welterweights in the region, defending his home turf once again as champion. Known for his durability and well-rounded game, he now faces a dangerous challenger looking to make history.

Camilo enters as a proud representative of Uruguay, bringing an international edge to the matchup. With a strong record and growing momentum, he aims to capture LFA gold and put South American talent back in the spotlight on the global stage.

The co-main event will feature the LFA Lightweight Championship, as Top East Coast contender Robert Varricchio (8-1) challenges reigning champion Richie Miranda (12-1).

Miranda has established himself as one of the most dominant lightweights in the promotion, combining experience, composure, and finishing ability. He now looks to defend his title against a hungry challenger.

Varricchio comes into the bout with confidence and momentum, seeking to dethrone the champion and claim his first LFA title in what promises to be a high-level lightweight clash.

LFA 233: Camilo vs. Piersma takes place Friday, May 22nd at the Seneca Allegany Event Center in Salamanca, New York.
