VENTURA, CALIFORNIA (AUGUST 20, 2026) – On Thursday, August 20th, LFA hosted the official weigh-in for LFA 239 at the Ventura Beach Marriott in Ventura, CA.

The event will now be headlined by a catchweight showdown between California native Chris Mecate and Argentina’s Manuel Exposito, after originally billed flyweight headliner Gianni Vazquez signed with the UFC and was removed from the card, prompting the promotion to elevate the Mecate-Exposito bout to the main event.

LFA 239: Mecate vs Exposito, presented by Monster Energy, will feature veteran MMA broadcaster Ron Kruck alongside analyst Gilbert Melendez, a former UFC star and former Strikeforce champion, on commentary.

The action takes place Friday night at the Ventura County Event Center as part of The Throw Down Cornhole Festival, one of the country’s premier annual sporting festivals, attracting competitors and fans from across the United States for a weekend of competition and entertainment. In addition to elite cornhole tournaments, the festival features live music, DJs, food vendors, truck and motorcycle displays, axe throwing, and the LFA Fight Night, making it one of the most unique sports weekends of the summer.

LFA 239: Mecate vs Exposito will air LIVE in the United States on VICE TV at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT and across Latin America on ESPN Deportes and ESPN KnockOut.

All fighters successfully made weight with the exception of Benny Orozco, whose lightweight bout against Dzhamal Mavliudov will proceed as scheduled following the appropriate penalty. LFA 239 will move forward with a full fight card, capped by the catchweight main event between Chris Mecate and Manuel Exposito.
