CUIABÁ, Brazil — On Thursday, September 4th, LFA hosted the official weigh-in for LFA 216: Silva vs. Bertolso from the Hotel Slim Cuiabá Aeroporto in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil. In the main event, LFA strawweight champion Lany Silva (7-1) makes her first title defense against undefeated hometown favorite Aieza Bertolso (6-0).

LFA 216, presented by Monster Energy, will feature veteran MMA commentator Ron Kruck alongside UFC legend and former heavyweight world champion Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira. The Brazilian-Portuguese commentary team will consist of UFC commentator Tarso Dória working alongside current UFC featherweight star Melquizael Costa. They will call the action live inside Musiva in Cuiabá, Brazil. The main card will be available tomorrow night LIVE on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT.

All tickets for the event are SOLD OUT.

All athletes successfully made weight with the exception of Thomas Bryan and Joseph Yohan. Bryan and Yohan missed the bantamweight limit, but their fights against Daniel Araujo and Maycon Douglas will proceed as scheduled, with both paying a penalty to their opponents. In addition, the flyweight bout between Thiago Taveira and Jhonata Silva has been canceled due to medical issues relating to Taveira’s weight cut.

LFA 216 will proceed with 13 bouts, headlined by a strawweight world championship bout that will showcase two of Brazil’s brightest MMA talents.
