LAS VEGAS, Nevada — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will return to the Northeast on Friday, May 15th, for another action-packed night of fights at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. LFA 232 will be headlined by a featherweight world title bout as Brazil’s Erick Visconde faces Uruguay’s Gustavo Pintos for the vacant championship.
The featherweight title became vacant after former champion Lerryan Douglas signed with the UFC, opening the door for two of the division’s top contenders to battle for the belt. The event marks the LFA’s return to Foxwoods Resort Casino, one of the promotion’s premier venues in the Northeast.
The main card of LFA 232: Visconde vs. Pintos, presented by Monster Energy, will air live in the United States on VICE TV. Tickets are available now at Ticketmaster.com.
“We’re excited to return to Foxwoods for another big event,” stated Soares. “The featherweight title became vacant after Lerryan Douglas moved on to the UFC, and this is the perfect opportunity for two outstanding fighters to compete for the championship. Erick Visconde is a proven finisher who has delivered some incredible moments in the LFA cage, while Gustavo Pintos is an undefeated prospect representing Uruguay. This matchup brings together two of South America’s top featherweights and should make for a fantastic main event.”
Erick Visconde (16-3) enters the bout as one of the most dangerous finishers in the LFA featherweight division. The Brazilian standout has built his reputation on an aggressive style and devastating knockout power. In 2025, Visconde produced one of the most memorable highlights in LFA history when he landed a spectacular spinning elbow knockout, earning LFA Knockout of the Year honors. With multiple highlight-reel finishes on his résumé, Visconde now looks to capture the LFA featherweight world title and continue Brazil’s long tradition of producing elite champions in the division.
Standing across from him will be Gustavo Pintos (10-0), an undefeated standout from Uruguay who has quickly emerged as one of the most promising prospects in South American MMA. Pintos brings a perfect professional record into the bout and has impressed fans with his relentless pace and well-rounded skill set. Now stepping onto the biggest stage of his career, the Uruguayan looks to shock the Brazilian contender and claim the LFA featherweight world championship.
The bout also adds another chapter to the historic sporting rivalry between Brazil and Uruguay, two neighboring nations with a long history of competitive battles across multiple sports. With Visconde representing Brazil and Pintos carrying the undefeated banner for Uruguay, the fight promises not only a clash for the vacant LFA featherweight title, but also a showdown fueled by South American pride inside the LFA cage.
