PRIOR LAKE, Minnesota (September 12, 2025) – On a special night at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, an LFA mainstay, LFA 217, presented by Monster Energy, was the setting for a stacked main and preliminary card. The night was home to fourteen fights headlined by Mitchell McKee vs. Pedro Nobre and Gable Steveson vs. Braden Peterson. In the main event and the “Fight of the Night,” Nobre had some moments in the fight, but, in the end, McKee controlled the fight and finished via knockout with a series of right and left hooks in the second round. McKee propelled his undefeated record to 10-0.
In the co-main event and in one of the most anticipated fights in LFA history, the Olympic Gold medalist, Gable Steveson, made his professional MMA debut against rising heavyweight Braden Peterson. Steveson, who hails from Apple Valley, Minnesota, was dangerous from the start of the fight and quickly finished Peterson via TKO with a series of punches to the head. It was a statement debut for Steveson who was backed in his corner by the legendary UFC champion, Jon Jones. Steveson shared the “Performance of the Night” with Christian Turner and Mackenzie Stiller who each won via submissions by guillotine choke and bulldog choke, respectively. Peterson dropped to 1-1.

LFA takes a week off before the promotion’s first ever event in Europe as LFA 218 takes place in Tenerife, Spain at the Tenerife Sports Pavilion Santiago Martin on September 27th. The fight card brings fighters from Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Portugal, France, Ireland, Brazil, Sweden, Morocco, and the Netherlands to properly celebrate LFA’s first foray on European soil.
