SUMMARY:LFA 185: Gennrich vs. Lewis (Hammond\, Indiana)
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are on sale NOW at Ticketmaster.com. \nLFA 185 will be broadcast live at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on UFC FIGHT PASS \n  \nWe return after a couple of weeks off with TWO title fights\, our 9th and 10th title fights of 2024. Our main event is for the 155lb strap as Wisconsin’s Kegan Gennrich (8-2) returns to defend his title for the first time against undefeated Richie Lewis (5-0). Gennrich captured the title back in January in our first event of the year against former champion JaCobi Jones\, winning via Round 5 submission. Gennrich is a high school state champion wrestler and also wrestled at D-1 University of Wisconsin. Gennrich is making his 7th LFA appearance and has won 6 fights in a row. Lewis also has a wrestling pedigree. He was U-23 World Champion for Team USA in 2018 and wrestled in college for D-1 Rutgers. Originally from New Jersey\, he now trains with the killers at Kill Cliff FC. He brings 2 wins via TKO into his second LFA appearance and second Pro Title fight. These two have combined for 7 finishes\, 5 of those coming in Round #2.\n\nThe Interim Strawweight title is on the line in our co-main event as Interim Champ Natasha Kuziutina (5-1) defends her strap for the first time against Brazilian and 9-fight Bellator-vet Bruna Ellen (7-4). The current LFA Strawweight Champion is Rose Conceicao who is set to fight on Dana White’s Contender Series in a couple of months. Kuziutina is an Olympic Bronze Medalist in Judo and is coming off a win over Giovanna Canuto for the Interim 115lb title at LFA 173 in December. Originally from Russia\, she now trains at ATT in Florida with Artem Levin and King Mo. She has 3 finishes in 5 victories\, all 3 via Armbar. Ellen makes her LFA Debut after 9 fights with Bellator where she made her debut at age 19. In 7 years with Bellator she went 5-4 and fought big names like Ilima-Lei MacFarlane and Juliana Velasquez. She has 1 TKO win in 7 Pro victories and has never been finished as a Pro. The Co-Man Event at LFA 185 will be her first fight at Strawweight and first Title Fight.\n\nAlso on the Card:\n\n– Jose Ferreira (11-1\, 1 NC) takes on Cassio Barao (8-0-1) in a battle between Chile and Brazil. Ferreira is coming off his first loss as a Pro in September. Originally from Santiago\, he now trains in Chicago at Valle Flow Striking Academy alongside Belal Muhammad and fellow countryman Ignacio Bahamondes.  The Chilean brings 8 finishes (3 KOs\, 5 Subs) into his LFA Debut at LFA 185. Barao fought twice for the LFA down in Cajamar (where he’s from) going 1-0-1\, but LFA 185 will be his first fight in the U.S. He has a 100% finishing rate (Also 3 KOs & 5 Subs) and Black Belts in both BJJ and Muay Thai. These two have combined for 11 first-round finishes.\n\n– Surging newcomers Tyler Scott (8-3) and Joey Hart (5-1) square off in our third fight of the night. SUMMARY:LFA 184: Diaz vs. Lewis (Commerce\, California)
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are on sale NOW at LFAtix.com \nLFA 184 will be broadcast live at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on UFC FIGHT PASS \n  \nAfter a week off we are back this week with our first show in SoCal in almost a year. The last time the LFA touched down in Commerce\, California’s Cody Davis won the LFA Flyweight title in the email event. This week’s card features 2 former LFA Champions (Cody Davis & Ozzy Diaz)\, 1 former LFA Title Challenger (Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani)\, and a 4-fight UFC-vet (Bevon Lewis).\n\n\nOur Main Event this week is a Light Heavyweight matchup between Los Angeles’ own Ozzy Diaz (8-2) and Bevon Lewis (7-4). Diaz is a former LFA Middleweight champion\, he captured the title in this building in March 2022 over Bruno Assis. He then went on to Dana White’s Contender Series where he lost to Joe Pyfer. After a change in weight classes and fight camp\, he returned after almost a 2-year layoff to win his 205lb debut at LFA 178 in March. The Kings MMA striker brings a 100% finishing rate with him to LFA 184. Lewis is a 2-time Dana White’s Contender Series and 4-time UFC-vet. He fought on Season 1 of DWCS\, won via Decision\, but did not get a UFC contract. He returned the next Season and got a RD 1 TKO win that got him a contract. After that he fought 4 times from 2018 to 2020 in the UFC Octagon going 1-3. This will be only his 2nd fight since his release from the UFC in 2020 and first fight in the LFA since LFA 38 in April 2018. These two fighters have combined for 11 finishes and are hungry to get back on the UFC’s radar.\n\n\nOur co-main event features California fan favorite Chase Gibson (13-6) and surging Colombian Javier Reyes (17-3). Gibson is also a DWCS-vet and 3-time LFA-vet. He headlined LFA 137 in this building in July 2022. The BJJ Black Belt has rattled off back-to-back wins in other promotions since we last saw him. Reyes is riding a whopping 7-fight win streak\, his last loss came all the way back in Feb. 2019. The Bogota-born fighter has 13 finishes in 17 wins and a Brown Belt in BJJ. These two fighters have combined for 23 finishes\, 14 of them in Round #1.\n\n\nAlso on the Card:\n\n– Former LFA Lightweight Title Challenger and BJJ Black Belt Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani (6-2) looks to build on a successful Welterweight Debut against Dutch fighter Victor Kuiks (5-1). Lebosnoyani is the son of Jiu Jitsu Royalty\, his father Nono trained Royce Gracie and Jean-Paul has 5 submissions out of 6 wins. He’s coming off his 1st KO win in his 170lb debut in March. Kuiks is from Amsterdam\, but has been living and training in Tijuana since the pandemic. He of course has the Kickboxing base\, but has been working on his Jiu Jitsu at Entram Gym. These two fighters have combined for 10 finishes\, 8 of them in the first round.\n\n\n– Brazilian-born Lerryan Douglas (9-5) returns against ATT fighter Nate Ghareeb (9-2). After traveling around in search of a good team\, Douglas has found a home in Southern California with Cub Swanson. He’s coming off a highlight reel KO in his last LFA appearance in November and has 6 finishes in 9 Pro wins. Ghareeb is riding a 3-fight win streak going back to September 2022 and has won multiple Pro titles. He brings in 8 finishes in 9 Pro wins.\n\n\n– Former Flyweight champion Cody Davis (8-2) returns after losing his title in November to take on Hawaiian striker Rodney Kealohi (7-4). Davis captured the LFA 125lb title in this building in June against Brazilian Igor Siqueira and then lost it to Brazilian Eduardo Chapolin in November. The California Mixed Martial Arts product and former collegiate baseball player will be making his 7th LFA appearance. Kealohi is coming off a win in March and returning to the LFA for the first-time in 14 months. Training out of Xtreme Couture in Vegas\, he has 6 finishes in 7 Pro wins\, 5 via KO/TKO.\n\n\n– We kick off the Main Card with another Flyweight battle as newcomers Gilbert Nakatani (6-1) and Gabriel Gomes (5-0) throwdown. Nakatani has won 2 straight fights and is one of Tapology’s highest ranked Flyweights in California. He has 5 finishes out of 6 Pro wins and is fighting for the second time in 6 weeks. Gomes is making his LFA and U.S. Debut. He is undefeated as a Pro and Amateur in MMA and is fighting for the first time since October 2022. He has 3 finishes in 5 Pro victories.

SUMMARY:LFA 178: Satybaldiev vs. Assis (Santa Cruz\, California)
DESCRIPTION:  \nTickets are on sale NOW at Ticketmaster \n  \nLFA 178 will be broadcast live at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on UFC FIGHT PASS \n\nWe’re back this week with our second show in Santa Cruz. This week 6 different nations will be represented on the main card (Brazil\, USA\, Uzbekistan\, Kyrgyzstan\, Israel\, & Afghanistan) and the Interim Light Heavyweight Title will be on the line in our Main Event.\n\n\nBruno Lopes is our current champ at 205lbs and he’s coming off a successful title defense in January. This week another Brazilian Bruno\, Bruno Assis (13-6) returns to take on towering Kyrgyzstan fighter Uran Satybaldyev (6-1) for the Interim Strap. Assis fought for the LFA Middleweight title in 2022 and lost to Ozzy Diaz. He has since moved up to 205lbs. He is a DWCS-vet and has Black Belts in BJJ\, Judo\, and Karate. He brings in a 77% finishing rate into this matchup with 9 wins coming by way of Submission. Satybaldyev is coming off a win in his LFA Debut in August in this same building. The Kyrgyzstan fighter is a National Champion in Judo and has been training with Urijah Faber at Team Alpha Male. He brings in 5 KO wins in 6 Pro victories and is looking to be the first ever Kyrgyzstan fighter to win an LFA title. These two have combined for 11 first-round finishes and both men are fighting in their 3rd career Professional Title Fight.\n\n\nThe co-main event is an intriguing matchup between 2 Southern California transplants Miguel Jacob (8-2) and Jeff Creighton (9-2-1). Jacob comes in on a 3-fight win streak and is a kickboxer from Rio now training out of Kings MMA in Los Angeles. He is making his fourth LFA appearance and is coming off his first win in the LFA Octagon in April. He is a 4-time Amateur National Kickboxing Champion in Brazil and a 3-time Pan-American Kickboxing Champ\, but he also has a Brown Belt in BJJ. Creighton has won 4 fights in a row and will be making his LFA Debut. Proudly hailing from North Carolina\, Creighton now trains out of Dan Henderson and Joe Stevenson’s Team Quest in Temecula. Creighton comes from a wrestling background and has 1 KO and 4 submissions in his 9 wins. These two have combined for 6 first-round finishes.\n\n\nAlso on the card:\n\n\n– After having his fight fall through at LFA 177 two weeks ago\, Diego Bianchini (8-1) gets another chance to make his LFA debut\, this time against tough Uzbekistan fighter Bakhromjon Mashrapov (7-3). Bianchini trains out of Chute Boxe Diego Lima in Sao Paulo alongside Charles Oliveira and is coming off his first loss as a Pro. He comes in with a 75% finishing rate and will be making his U.S. debut. Mashrapov is making his third appearance with the LFA. He lost a decision to now Interim Welterweight Champ Shamidkhan Magomedov in his last LFA outing. Mashrapov comes from a Karate background and has 6 KOs in his 7 wins.\n\n\n– In a battle between LFA newcomers\, Afghanistan’s Hussain Bakhsh Safari (7-2) meets Israel’s Stav Koren (3-0). Safari is a huge celebrity in Afghanistan\, but is fighting for the first time in the U.S. He came to California in December and has been training at Team Alpha Male. He is a 3-time World Jiu Jitsu Champion and has 4 wins via submission. Koren is from Israel\, but has been in Las Vegas the last few months training at Syndicate MMA. He is a Brown Belt in BJJ and an Israeli National Champion in BJJ.\n\n\n– Former LFA Middleweight Champion Ozzy Diaz (7-2) returns in our second fight of the night to take on Bellator and PFL-vet Chuck Campbell (6-3\, 1 NC). Diaz won the 185lb strap versus main event fighter Bruno Assis in March 2022 and then went on DWCS where he was knocked out by Joe Pyfer. He has since changed camps from CMMA to Kings MMA and this will be his debut at 205lbs. Campbell trains out of AKA in San Jose and was a former D-1 Defensive End at the University of Iowa. These two have combined for 8 KO wins and 7 first-round finishes.\n\n\n– We kick off the main card with former title challenger Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani (5-2) and Nor-Cal’s own Adam Wamsley (4-3). Lebosnoyani is coming off a loss to JaCobi Jones in a Lightweight Title fight in May. He has since moved camps from CMMA to Kings MMA and he will be competing a weight class up. He is a BJJ Black Belt and all 5 of his wins are via submission. Wamsley is originally from Napa and also comes from a grappling background. He is a Brown Belt in BJJ and a IBJJF Bronze Medalist. He comes in with a 75% finishing rate and has one appearance with Bellator.

SUMMARY:LFA 175: Lopes vs. Brigagão (Cajamar\, São Paulo\, Brazil)
DESCRIPTION:LFA 175 will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on UFC FIGHT PASS. \nFeatured Prelims on YouTube at 7:30 p.m. ET. \nEarly Prelims on YouTube at 5:15 p.m. ET. \n  \n \nThis week we kickoff our 2024 Brazil shows with our 7th show in Cajamar\, and 9th in the state of Sao Paulo.\n\nThis week’s main event features a Light Heavyweight Title fight as the champion Bruno Lopes (11-1) returns for the first time since September 2022 to defend his title for the first time against Marcos Brigagao (17-6). Both men are Dana White Contender Series-veterans with Lopes coming off his first ever loss as a Pro on the show in September\, while Brigagao lost to LFA-vet Jamal Pogues on the show in 2019. Lopes is ranked #10 by Tapology in Brazil at 205 lbs and has 9 finishes in 11 victories. Brigagao is ranked #6 in Brazil and has 15 finishes in 17 victories. The two have combined for 16 first-round finishes. Both men have good striking pedigrees\, but the BJJ Black Belt\, Bruno Lopes should have the edge on the ground.\n\nOur co-main event promises fireworks as strikers Samuel Silva (11-4-1) and Anderson Ferreira (18-4) square off at Lightweight. Silva has rattled off 3 wins in a row including a win over DWCS-vet Rodrigo Lidio at LFA 166 in September. He’s Tapology’s #15 ranked Lightweight in Brazil and has 10 finishes in 11 wins. Ferreira has won 4 fights in a row and along with an impressive MMA resume\, he has won world titles in Kickboxing/Muay Thai. He is ranked #12 in Brazil and has finishes in all but one of his Pro victories (16 KOs\, 1 Sub). The two have combined for 23 first-round finishes and both fighters were nominated for “Fight of the Year” in the 2023 Fan’s Choice Awards\, so you can expect them to provide another nominee here.\n\nAlso on the card:\n\n– Fresh off a win on Dana White Contender Series in August\, Marco Tulio (10-1) returns to the LFA for a second time to take on newcomer Cemey Dos Santos (6-4) at Middleweight. Tulio earned a Decision win and 6th straight win on DWCS in August\, but was not awarded a UFC contract. His last fight in the LFA was exactly a year ago at LFA 151 where he got a Round 1 TKO win. He is Taplogy’s #3 ranked Middleweight in Brazil and has 7 finishes in 10 wins. Dos Santos is returning to MMA for the first time since February 2020 after battling some injuries. Hailing from Rio\, he is a Black Belt in Muay Thai with 4 KO wins out of his 6 Pro victories. A lot of combined first-round finishes in this one as well\, with 10 between Tulio and Dos Santos.\n\n– In a rematch from a fight way back in 2016\, Fernando Laurenco (17-3) returns to the LFA to take on Rafael “Mini Man” Pereira (10-4). Laurenco handed Pereira his first Pro loss back in November 2016. Laurenco is a Black Belt in BJJ and Tapology’s #3 ranked Bantamweight in Brazil. He has won 11 straight including a Round 1 Submission win in his LFA Debut at LFA 166 in September. Pereira has embraced Muay Thai since his first fight versus Laurenco. He comes in riding a 5-fight win streak and has Black Belts in both BJJ and Muay Thai. The two have combined for 14 finishes\, 12 in the first round.\n\n– Our second fight of the night features 2023 Fan’s Choice winner for “Female Fighter of the Year” Lany Silva (4-0) versus Naizi Cantanhede (6-0) in a battle of unbeaten Strawweights. Silva won 3 fights with the LFA in 2023\, but this will be her first appearance on the main card. Hailing from Salvador\, but now living and training in Sao Paulo\, she is a National Kickboxing champion and Pan-American Jiu Jitsu Champion. Cantanhede also had a successful 2023\, winning a pair of fights after a 5-year layoff. She has 3 finishes in 6 Pro wins and has definitely faced tougher competition than Silva. This will be a good test for the Fan’s Choice Award winner.\n\n– We kick off the Main Card with Sao Paulo bragging rights on the line as grappler Vinicius Pires (8-1) meets striker Apollo Gomes (9-1). Pires has won 7 straight fights including back-to-back fights in the LFA. He is a Black Belt in BJJ with 3 wins via submission and he trains out of Mehhh MMA in Sao Paulo. Gomes trains with the killers at Chute Boxe Diego Lima in Sao Paulo and has won back-to-back fights. He has 7 finishes in 9 wins with 3 coming in the first round.\n\nProducer’s Summary from AJ Pacheco

SUMMARY:LFA 174: Jones vs. Gennrich (Prior Lake\, Minnesota)
DESCRIPTION:Tickets are on sale NOW at Ticketmaster \nLFA 174 will be broadcast live at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT on UFC FIGHT PASS \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nHappy New Year Everyone! \n  \nWe kick off the 2024 campaign in familiar territory this week as Mystic Lake plays host to a Lightweight Title fight in our first Main Event of the year. \n  \nWith Interim Champ Jefferson Nascimento recovering from his win in November and hoping for a call from the UFC\, Wisconsin’s Kegan Gennrich (7-2) steps in to take on LFA 155lb Champ JaCobi Jones (6-2). Jones won the LFA title in May after some brutal ground and pound versus BJJ Black Belt Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani. He then went on DWCS and lost via Decision… Jones is a 3-time All-American wrestler at D-II Colorado State University-Pueblo and came up through the LFA (his only fight outside the LFA was his appearance on DWCS). He’s coming from Denver and Factory X. Gennrich is also a wrestler. He won a High School State Wrestling title in Wisconsin before going on to wrestle 1 year at the University of Wisconsin (D-I). Gennrich has rattled off 5 wins in a row including wins over Richie Miranda and most recently Donald Bush. Both fighters are wrestlers with Jones preferring to end fights violently with ground and pound while Gennrich has 3 wins via Submission. The two have combined for 8 finishes (3 KOs\, 5 Subs).\n\n\nOur co-main event features unbeaten Quang Le (6-0) and Kansas City’s Cody Peterson (6-1). Le is making his 6th LFA appearance and is coming off a razor-thin split decision win at LFA 168 in September. Originally from Vietnam\, Le brings 3 submission wins into his 1st co-main event fight. Peterson is fighting for the first time since 2019. The father of 6 has 5 finishes in 6 wins (1 KO\, 4 Subs) and is also a Pro Boxer with 7 pro boxing fights. He made his Pro Debut way back at RFA 6 in 2013. The two have combined for 7 submission wins and 6 first-round finishes.\n\n\nAlso on the card:\n\n– 3-time All American wrestler Wes Schultz (4-1) returns for the first time in almost a year against newcomer Maurice Morris (6-3). Schultz suffered his first Pro loss in this building against Dylan Budka last January\, Budka is now in the UFC. After a bounce-back win in May he’s looking for his 3rd win in the LFA Octagon at LFA 174. Morris has a 100% finishing rate and has won 3 straight. He also comes from a wrestling background. He was a 3-time South Carolina State Champion Wrestler in high school and has 4 first-round finishes as a Pro in MMA.\n\n– In our 3rd fight of the night\, Adamu Isah (3-1) steps in on short notice to take on the more experienced Devante Sewell (11-8). Isah suffered his only loss as a Pro in this building last year\, but rebounded in August. He comes from a Taekwondo background and trains with the killers at Kill Cliff FC in Florida. Sewell is making his 3rd LFA appearance\, but is still looking for his 1st win in the LFA. Nicknamed “The Grinder” he prefers to get his work done on the canvas. He comes in riding a 2-fight win streak and has 6 submission wins in his 11 Pro wins. This looks like your typical Striker vs. Grappling matchup.\n\n– After an impressive LFA Debut in August\, Denver’s Kendra McIntyre (2-0) returns to take on Jayde Sheeley (1-1) in our second fight of the night. McIntyre comes from a Muay Thai background and is coming off an impressive win over Alandria Rosales in August. She trains at High Altitude Martial Arts alongside many high profile Elevation Fight Team athletes. Sheeley is the daughter of K-1 great Scott Sheeley. She comes from a striking background\, but has been working a lot on her grappling of late. She is coming off her first win as a Pro in June at LFA 160.\n\n– We kick off the night with Heavyweight Strikers Steven Asplund (1-0) and Billy Ray Valdez (2-0). Asplund is a Minnesota product who has never tasted defeat as a Pro or Amateur. He won his Pro Debut in just 11 seconds in November against LFA-vet Anthony Garrett. Valdez hails from Albuquerque and is coming off a win in his LFA Debut in August. He has won 3 straight going back to his Amateur career. Don’t blink in this one\, the two have combined for3 first-round finishes and just 5:29 of cage time as Pros.\n\nA few facts about LFA 174 from Producer AJ Pacheco.
